FAQs

Q: Can you translate YouTube videos?

Yes, you can use services like this to download YouTube videos as mp4 files. You can then upload the mp4 files here for translation. Note: You must make sure that you do not infringe upon copyrights.

Q: Can I translate keynotes, lectures, documentaries, or talk shows?

Yes! Most videos that feature a single speaker or narrator would work very well. We encourage you to add translated voice-over to these videos.

Q: Can I translate podcasts, interviews, or sitcoms?

Yes! For videos with multiple interacting speakers, we recommend adding closed captions to preserve the dynamics between the speakers.

Q: Are you using OpenAI for translation?

Nope. We are using multiple agents provided by the decentralized Gaia Network to perform voice transcription, translation with domain knowledge, and text-to-voice operations. The Gaia Network allows us to choose the best fine-tuned models for each of these agentic tasks, as opposed to the “one model fits all” approach by OpenAI.

Q: Do you plan to support more languages beyond English, Chinese and Japanese?

Yes! The strength of the Gaia Network is that it allows us to leverage the best model for the translation tasks. For example, the English to Chinese translation is done by the Qwen 2.5 models as they are trained on the largest corpus of Chinese and English content. More languages will be supported soon!

Q: Why do I have to wait for my translation in email?

High-quality translation is extremely compute-intensive. Some users upload long videos (ie. over 30 minutes) that takes a long time to translate. In order to improve efficiency and reduce overall wait time, we implemented a queue for video translation workloads. You will be notified via email as soon as your video in the queue is processed.

Q: Can I #FFFAFAlist your email sender to make sure that it will NOT be classified as spam by my email provider?

Yes, we will send email from assiatant@secondstate.io.
